The selection is somewhat limited, and the prices are often somewhat higher than you would find at a local dealer. But there is a surprisingly large amount of amateur radio equipment available on Amazon. Most of these items are actually fulfilled by third-party sellers, but you purchase directly through Amazon, and you have recourse to Amazon's customer service in the event that there is a problem. Therefore, for sheer convenience, Amazon can actually be a good source of ham gear.

If you're looking for an inexpensive QRP CW rig for portable use, the YouKits HB-1B is now available on Amazon. Despite the name, this is a fully assembled rig. It's a Chinese knockoff of similar portable QRP rigs. From the reviews I've read, it's an excellent rig for the money. If you want a lightweight CW rig to work the world while backpacking, this would be an excellent choice.

I have not yet seen any reviews of this rig, but it does sound intriguing. My preference for QRP operation is CW, but with good conditions, this rig ought to perform well.
