Plain-English Study Guide for the FCC Amateur Radio General Class License

W0IS.com

Note: The questions on the test will be changing on July 1, 2023. However, if you studied with an old study guide, either mine or one by a different author, you should still be able to pass without difficulty. Most questions stayed the same, and I have a complete listing of all of the new questions. Since they cover the same subject matter, you will probably get most of them correct without any additional study. You can find the list of new questions at this link.

If you have your FCC Amateur (Ham) Radio Technician license, and you're ready to upgrade to the General class license, I have written a study guide to get you ready for the test.

Even if you have very little background in radio or electronics, you will be able to pass the test by using this guide. (This book assumes that you have already passed the test for the entry level Technician license. If you haven't, there is a separate "Plain English" guide for that exam.) All of the concepts are explained in the most basic terms, and each section of the book is followed by the actual questions you will see on the test. When you are finished with this book, you will be able to pass the test!

The book is available in paperback for only $14.95 from Amazon.

This book is also available on Amazon as a Kindle book. You can order by clicking the link below:

If you don't have a Kindle, you can download a free Kindle viewer for your PC or other platform by following this link.

It is also available at smashwords.com in a variety of e-book formats (including PDF) at this link.

If you do not already have an Amateur Radio license, you should start out with the Technician class license. Information about my study guide for that license is available at this link. If you want, you can take both tests the same day, but you do need to start with the Technician test and pass that before receiving your license.
